A developer has used a Siri proxy plugin to establish a connection between his iPhone 4S and his car’s Viper alarm system to trigger commands such as vehicle ignition, lock the car, pop the trunk, enable alarm, and even start the engine.

In a blog post, the developer elaborates on his ‘invention’ saying, “The ‘Siri Proxy’ plugin I wrote handles interaction with a php script that runs on my web server.”

“The php script, which I developed months ago for personal use, allows me to send commands to my car which has a Viper SmartStart module installed.”

According to the developer, the current commands that Siri accepts via this method currently are: "Start my car", "Lock my car", "Pop my trunk", “Vehicle Arm”, “Vehicle Disarm”, “Vehicle Start”, “Vehicle Stop”, “Vehicle Pop Trunk”, and “Vehicle Panic”.
