iPhone 5 To Be Exclusive To Sprint In $20 Billion Deal?

According to a recent report by the Wall Street Journal, Sprint has signed a deal with Apple which is reported to be worth $20 billion, and Sprint will carry the iPhone 5 exclusively.

The deal is reported to last until 2014, and this would see Sprint buying around 30 million iPhones from Apple until 2014, and the device will apparently be a 4G WiMax device exclusive to Sprint.

According to the BGR, Sprint would carry the iPhone 5, whilst AT&T and Verizon would carry the iPhone 4S, which does seem a little strange considering that both carriers have sold millions of iPhones for Apple.

I guess we will find out later whether the iPhone 5 will be exclusive to Sprint, at the moment I think we can just take this as a rumor until we get some confirmation from Apple.

Personally I think it would be a mistake for Apple to limit the new iPhone 5 to just one carrier in the US, as Apple have been trying to expand to more and more carriers with each new version of the iPhone.

Apple To Offer iOS App Rentals With iOS 5?

Apple is expected to launch the latest version of their mobile OS, iOS 5 at their iPhone 5 event later today, and now some interesting information has been discovered in the latest beta version of iTunes, iTunes 10.5 Beta 9.

It look like apple may intend to off app rentals in iTunes 10.5, and you would be able to rent an app from iTunes for a certain period of time, and when the time was up the app would disappear from your iPhoneor iPad.

The reference to the app rentals in iTunes 10.5 Beta 9 was discovered by Sonny Dickson, and the iTunes app rentals may work in a similar way to iTunes movie rentals.

It seems like a good idea, you could pay a rental fee to test an app out before you decide to pruchase it which would be better than testing the free version as it would be the full application.

Apple To Announce New TV iPad App At iPhone 5 Event?

We have talked quite a bit about the hardware that Apple will be announcing later today, namely the newiPhone 4S and the iPhone 5, and we are also expecting Apple to launch iOS 5.

We have also heard that we may see Facebook’s new iPad and iPhone apps, but now according to Robert Scoble, we may also see a new TV style iPad app that is designed to expand Apple’s TV streaming to our iOS devices.

I’m hearing that Apple is working on a new iPad app that looks a lot like DirecTV without the dish, too. Again, that app will have Steve Jobs’ fingerprints all over it as it will be more expansive than the press is expecting in its content availability. There’s a reason Apple built a 500,000-square-foot datacenter (about twice the size of a Facebook one, by the way) and that new datacenter is for video and the data that video causes to be shared with everyone. Will +Reed Hastings CEO at Netflix be on stage tomorrow to help Apple explain its three-screen strategy? I sure hope so, because that would explain further why Netflix split up its streaming and DVD businesses a lot better than Reed’s been able to so far.

There are no details as yet on how exactly the new TV app will work, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.

Google’s Chrome Headed To Android Devices Soon

Google’s Chrome browser has become extremely popular, and it looks like it may soon be headed to Google’s Android devices, and we could possibly see it on Android smartphones and tablets as early as next month.

Google have already confirmed that they will release the latest version of their Android OS some time in October or November, and it looks like we may see Chrome land on Android devices at the same time.

According to the guys over at Android and Me, the Chromium revision log, details that the Androidversion of Google’s Chrome will come with most of the features that can be found in the desktop version of Chrome.

Nokia Ace Windows Phone Smartphone With 4.3 Inch AMOLED Display Rumored

We are expecting Nokia to release their first Windows Phone 7 smartphone at Nokia World 2011, which takes place later this month, but now it would appear that we may also see a few other Nokia Windows Phone 7 devices at the same time.

According to a recent report, one of those is called the Nokia Ace and it will apparently come with a 4.3 inch AMOLED display and will feature Windows Phone 7.5 Mango.

Other rumored specifications include an 8 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, a 1.4GHz processor and 16GB of built in storage, and it is reported to be Nokia’s first LTE 4G smartphone.

Facebook Tag is a feature which links a person, page, or place to something you post in Facebooksuch as a status update or a photo. This is very helpful because tagging people, pages and places inyour posts lets others know more about who you’re with, what’s on your mind and where you are. Today, many online marketers are using this modern technique as their newest marketing tool and strategy to promote commercial products and to attract more prospective customers. Although it the intention is good, this feature is often times abused and overused; leaving ordinary Facebook users with a bunch of unrelated, promotional, and spam photos on their profile pages.

You can avoid from Facebook tagging spams by manually reviewing posts and photos you're tagged in before they go on your profile. You can do this through enabling theProfile (Timeline) Review feature under Facebook's Privacy settings. Here's a simple tutorial on how to do it:

How to Enable Profile (Timeline) Review in Facebook

Click the account menu at the top right and choose Privacy Settings.

On the Privacy Settings page, scroll down and choose How Tags Work.
