It will take some time for Google to get Motorola Mobility working on future Nexus phone hardware, but thankfully we wont have to wait too long for the next Nexus handset to be launched.

It’s being suggested that Google is planning to launch the smartphone successor to the Nexus S, called the Nexus Prime, this October, and it will be the first device to ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

As well as keeping Android fans happy with a brand new version of the OS to play with, the hardware on board sounds impressive and ties up with what we’ve heard before. At its heart is a 1.5GHz dual-core processor coupled with a healthy 1GB of RAM.

The display is also set to be pleasing for those who like a lot of screen to play with as it’s a Samsung 4.5-inch Super AMOLED HD 720p (1280 x 720) panel. It’s also thought to use Samsung’sPenTile subpixel matrix scheme, although Samsung is expected to be introducing a Super AMOLED HD Plus display soon which doesn’t use PenTile. That’s desirable as it means more subpixels and therefore better sharpness and contrast. Hopefully that’s the display shipping in the Nexus Prime come October.

It makes sense for Google to choose an October launch date as if the iPhone 5 rumors turn out to be true, Apple will launch in early September. That gives the world a whole month to get over the excitement of Apple’s device and gear up for Google’s best competitor yet. That time frame also fits in with what we heard earlier this year with Google targeting a Q4 release for Ice Cream Sandwich.

There are a lot of iPhone stands in the world. Some are functional, others are plain silly. This iWrench belongs to the latter. The problem seems to be not the whole concept behind using a wrench to prop up an iPhone. The problem is the size of this wrench keeps it from being useful as a wrench. Why would you need to have an iPhone stand when you can’t fix the plumbing?

Anyone who has ever held a monkey wrench, an honest to goodness monkey wrench, knows that what they possess is a powerful tool upon which entire civilizations are built. Unlike a hammer, which needs nails, just having a wrench can become the foundation of an independent livelihood. We’re not kidding when we claim that one out of every five households in the world have a busted sink. Where did we get that statistic? Nowhere. Just made it up. But still not kidding.

Also, the fact that a wrench’s jaw is adjustable means that the miracles it can do on any length of pipe is limitless. Applied with muscle and grit, a wrench can shake the world.

Oh right, this is about a toy wrench that also doubles as an iPhone stand. Yeah, it looks nice. Would make a great key chain too.

The iWrench is already available for orders. According to one retailer it goes for $9. That’s fair.

This week Google has rolled out a couple of new updates to its Google+ social networking service, which include a new feature that allows to you to start and watch YouTube videos in a Google+ Hangout. In the near future its also expected that Google will further integrate the YouTube service with features that will enable you to create and record YouTube videos from directly within Google+

Currently Google Hangouts support ten simultaneous users and the new addition enable you to easily play a video  from YouTube to all your friends. To use the new features simply click it, and a browser window will pop up, allowing you to  choose which Google+ Circles you would like to share and Hangout with.
