Skype has introduced a new App directory this week showcasing third party applications built using Skype’s API. The new Skype App Directory has only just launched so there are only a few applications listed at the moment, but Skype hopes to add many more over the coming weeks.
They are separated into categories for Business, Call Recording and Desktop & Whiteboard Sharing for example, and each application has its own landing page providing more detailed information and requirements about the app, together with a price and purchase button.
Skype explains:
“giving Skype users the ability to rate apps, comment about apps, is totally new to Skype and will really help app developers get their apps out to the massive Skype community…having a directory makes live easier for us.”
To access the new Skype App Directory you can either visit the new webpage here, or access it via the Skype desktop app under the “Tools” menu.
